About Lolo Nel

My name is Lois E. Nelson, professionally known as Lolo Nel, and I am a Philadelphia-based photographer, content creator, and community storyteller with over 14 years of experience behind the lens.

​

Photography became a part of my life at an early age through my father. As a child, I watched him capture family memories through photographs, and those moments sparked a curiosity that eventually grew into a lifelong passion. What began as taking pictures at family gatherings evolved into a career dedicated to preserving meaningful moments and telling authentic stories through imagery.

​

Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in 41 international exhibitions and being featured in 10 magazines. My photography has also been displayed in local art exhibitions throughout Philadelphia and has reached millions of viewers through my contributions to Google Maps and online platforms.

​

Today, my work focuses on community events, cultural celebrations, portraits, leadership headshots, nonprofit organizations, and the people who make Philadelphia unique. I believe photography is more than creating beautiful images—it is about documenting stories, preserving history, and capturing the moments that connect us.

One of the greatest honors in my career has been photographing individuals and organizations whose work positively impacts their communities, including contributing professional headshots for the Community College of Philadelphia's Aspiring Leaders Fellowship Program.

Whether I am photographing a community event, a professional headshot session, or a special milestone, my goal remains the same: to create images that are authentic, meaningful, and memorable.
